[story]

a little girl, prolly about 6 or 7 was in
the back yard playing with her dog. the
yard was full of balls n' things that she and
the dog were playing with.

the girl held a ball in her hand but tripped
and fell over... and the dog came and bit
her on the head.

the girl was taken to the hospital and it was
found that she was alright.

the dog had a revolver put in its mouth
while she was at the hospital.

let me tell you something, people...

this is the most henious thing i have ever
heard as of late. while i understand that
the dog bit the girl... obviously causing
her some distress (to which she was taken
to the hospital... i dunno if she bled)...

but many many things pop into my mind...

1) why was the girl playing with the dog
alone without anyone watching?

2) if someone was watching, why did they
not think that maybe the dog was just playing
and got a bit too rough?

3) why... oh fuck why did the dog get shot
in the fucking mouth?!?!?!!??!

when i heard this story... i almost started
to cry. i didn't give a rats ass about the
little girl that got bit. i cared more about
the INHUMANE treatment of the animal.

apparently cops were at the scene and didn't
give a flying shit about the fact that this
muther fucker shot his dog.... i don't
know wtf happened other than the tidbits of
info i have here already in the post.

but i can tell you one thing... this isn't
the wild west. if the dog was thought to
be dangerous... animal control could have
been called and the dog would have been
put down in a more humane way.

the fact that he had to swallow a bullet
really upsets me...
it upsets me so much that even now, i can
hardly contain my emotion. yeah... its just
a dog. yeah... i don't know shit. but what
i do know, is that the events that occured
were too immature for proper assessment
and i think the dog owner should be arrested
for cruelty to animals.

these events happened about half a block
down from my house yesterday. i was outside
in my own backyard playing with my dog and
my neighbors dog when i heard the shot.

at the time, i blew it off because we all
hear shots and blow them off (right?).
anyways... i'm just horrified.

sure... i could be worried that some gay
mother fucker has a firearm in my neighborhood...
but every other house could have a firearm
and thats apart of the constitution and
i have no business saying shit on that
subject (right?). but the fact that this
animal was treated in such a way....

makes me so fucking sick....

if i shot my dog everytime it bit me, it would like like swiss cheese (of course, you have to take into consideration that the dog would have died from the first shot, and therefore would have never bit me, but that is beside the fact)....

some dogs are crazy, the dogs that are crazy are those dogs that are treated bad, and just down right abused. those dogs bite people all the time. another thing that must be remembered.....dogs are animals. they are not humans, they do not know the difference between right and wrong (humans definition of the words). when the dog bit the girl, he thought he was just playing (probably). if it was just one bite, that's not a big deal, however, if the dog bit the girl several times, and shook between bites....i think the dog should be put down....humanely.

well said. in fact, i was hoping someone else
would think the dog was playing too... as this
was my first thought when i heard the story.

the girl was playing ball with the dog. when
she fell... he just assumed her big stupid head
was the ball. case closed.

I don't know what to say.. because it's already been said.
It really is disgusting.. So many points that just makes this guy completely wrong..

Not supervising.. Not taking into account that the dog may have just been playing.. Like Wiqued said, the only alternative for him was to punish the dog by killing it in an inhumane way..

When I was little, we had a Dalmation.. who was way too rough with us as kids.. it did bite in a playful way - and my parents knew that.. the worst they would do to "punish" it was yell at it to make it stop playing and then move us away from the dog.. So in other words, just not letting us play with the dog..

The dog was NEVER put down, but it was just too rough for us as kids, so they gave it back to the previous owner with a warning that perhaps it should be a dog for more mature children/people..

It really is disgusting, I don't see how you could mix up PLAYING with an ATTACK by the dog.. if this what the guy had going through his head, that the dog attacked her, then he has some serious issues... Regardless, he has serious issues [img]tongue.gif[/img]

That is truly a tradgedy.... I got bit a couple times by different dogs growing up. Both were neither my fault or the dogs.... just happened. The dogs were playing.... as I was and it just happened. One dog thought I was hurt and was trying to help me when it bit me... it was not meant in harm, but they are animals and not human.

What upsets me is the treatment of the dog indeed, how utterly brutal... but that his first response was to shoot the dog. Is this how we solve situations today?? You hurt or made me mad or someone one I love therefore you DIE! What is this teaching his daughter??

good post too... as i have been bitten by a dog...
my aunts dog... when i was about the same age.
nothing happened to the dog. but that was 20+
years ago.

what really really disturbs me most... is when
i imagine it... the fucking asshole prolly had
to force the dog to keep the gun in its mouth...
prolly clamping its mouth around it...

and thinking of something like that just hurts
me so much...


oh... and i forgot to add....

after they killed the dog... they just left it
in the yard. evidently this was in the front
yard... so everyone in the world could have
driven by and seen the animal....

Ya know that brought something to my attention. My family bred show dogs all through my youth. There are some breeds that may bite once due to over excitement of defense but do not need to be put down and will never bite again.

It's the pit and their cousouns that go crazy at the taste of blood.

I am going to play devil's advocate for a minute even though I agree with everyone else about the S.O.B shooting his dog the way he did.

I can almost see what he was thinking the dog hurt his baby so the dog must pay in kind.

Please understand I don't agree with this logic in the slightest and I hop the asshole gets his ass loaded full of rocksalt just on principle. But in a strange sort of fashion I understand the bastard.

It sickens me to understand that twisted thinking but I kinda get it, but the dog's body should have been removed instantly now the poor little one is going to go through the trama of being the reason her doggie died.

i get what you are saying... but as babi mentioned,
he could have taken the dog to the pound right
then and there.

(conway's animal shelter does not destroy animals.
in fact, they keep the animals until a home is found.)

there could have been any other solution...

I agree completely with all of you I was just playing a bit of devils advocate as I had said. But it does sound like Conway has a great shelter. I gladly speak up on animal rights. I was just trying to understand what the Son of A Bitch might have been thinking. It helps me form a picture of what my opinion on the matter might be.

I will say one thing, I do hope the child is okay not just from the bite but from the trama of seeing or hearing about (and she will)what Daddy did to the dog.
